What we work with, and how it’s used
Every Tumandok piece begins as a raw, natural material. Here’s a plain look at what goes into the workshop before it becomes a tray, a frame, or a wall piece.

Capiz shell
Capiz shell is a naturally translucent, pearl-toned shell. Tumandok treats and shapes it into houseware and statement décor — including the Capiz Gold trays and coasters, and the wall-mounted hamper containers. This is the craft Tumandok has developed since 1988, and its material focus for BÚTLAK 2026.
BATH & TABLETOP
Banana bark skin
Banana bark skin comes from the dried outer sheaths of the banana trunk. It’s worked into bath and tabletop pieces — trays, bins, a tissue box, a multipurpose box, coasters, a soap dish, and a spoon-and-fork set.

Coconut shell and wood
Coconut shell and wood are shaped into jewelry boxes, small and large picture frames, and trays. The natural grain of the wood and the shell’s texture stay visible in the finished piece.

Rice hull
Rice hull — the outer husk removed during rice milling — is worked into flat, textured pieces such as the red rice hull placemat.
